Broderie Perse - (Broderie perse (French for "Persian embroidery") is a style of appliqué embroidery which uses printed elements to create a scene on the background fabric.) This period also includes many traditional patterns using period fabrics. Commercial quilts i.e. 1930's and 40's depression era quilts such as the fan and dresden plate examples. We try to include a wide variety of regions (throughout Canada and the U.S.A.) as well as vintage periods which will enhance the study of vintage fabrics.
