'Sad Dog' hooked rug
Naive central figure of a 'sad' dog. A hooked rug with a wide abstract border surrounding the appealing focus of a loveable family pet. Early 20th century with materials of cotton, wool, felt and burlap. Published in Blake McKendry's Folk Art Book - 'Primitive and Naive Art in Canada'. This rug was included in the collection of Blake and Ruth McKendry. The size is 44" x 37" and has been cleaned and conserved and mounted on a stretcher for hanging purposes.
